Advantages: Use the mario characters in the game

Disadvantages: Rubbish game

Mario Power Tennis is a different type of tennis game. The Mario characters in the game take over as tennis players in the game. You will notice that the ballboys in the background catching the balls will be characters from the Mario game to. However this game is not proper tennis as its a little bit stupid to if you ask me. The only people who may enjoy this game would be kids as it seems a little bit kiddish to me.

The main mode in this game is playing against each other. My friend and I thought the game was a joke. As you play normal tennis in the game out of no where you get a special ability all the time. This means you can throw fireballs? Rockets and other weird objects at your opponent. It just did not fit well with the game at all. Here you are playing normal tennis and all of a sudden a rocket is thrown into the game! This just put me and my friend of the game.

Other modes in the game were small modes which were just stupid. I just do not understand why the makers did this with the game. It was appealing with the characters in the game but each time you play you get a little angry with the amount of random involvement in the game from the CPU telling you to throw stuff. This is no doubt one of the worst games for tennis I have ever played.

Summary: I did not like this game

I think it's more of a Mario game than a Tennis one, and with that in mind I'd actually expect the frequent use of special abilities - similar to Mario Kart, no?
