Advantages: Good graphics, plenty of boss battles

Disadvantages: Controls can be awkward, too many cut-scenes

Metal Gear Solid the twin snakes is ultimately not a completely new game but an old one graphically improved with new features added on. The graphics in the game are pretty impressive especially in regards to the Gamecube.

The gameplay is all about stealth, if you keep alerting the guards in each of the levels you will not survive. The guards have specific lines of sight but also react to hearing sounds around the level and will come to investigate.

I did have a few problems with the game however, in particular the cut scenes are particularly long and many times I felt that I just wanted to play the game rather than have to listen to any more of the long winded story telling. Secondly it's my personal opinions that the control system is quite awkward, moving about just seems a bit awkward perhaps if they had adopted a similar control system to that used in Resident Evil 4 I might have enjoyed the game more. However many people will probably not have any major issues with the control system.

The game is quite long and comes over 2 discs though that is probably due to the number of cut-scenes. The boss battles in the game are pretty good and there is a lot of variety in the different battles.

Overall a good solid game to play and die-hard Metal Gear fans should definately pick it up though newcomers may be put off by the difficulty level.

Summary: Good game in the Metal Gear Series though newcomers will not enjoy it as much as the hardcore fans
