Advantages: Fast arcade fun, Four player, Look life like
Disadvantages: No Franchise
First NBA game for the Gamecube can it beat the franitic two on two get got from the fantastic NBA JAM games on the SNES?? The first thing that hits you in NBA courtside is that it is very bright what a suprise it is a Nintendo game no change there. The next thing that hits you right in the face is to detail on the modeling of the players and the whole areana. It look a whole lot different from other Basketball games that are around. It seems to play more realistic well onec you get to gripps with the control system it is so differenet to EA shabby games and it is not just a update of the roaster it is a whole new game something EA find very hard to do. If you are a really big fan of EA's Basketball games and think you are just the best then you will have your work cut out with this baby as the controls are like no other for a start all tha passing is done with the C-Stick and cos of this you can not just throw the ball around you have to use build up play to make space for the attack. Once you have mastered the new controls you will soon be hitting the three pointer and slam dunking with ease. i would have to say it is more of a arcade game rather that a simulation but still a great game to pick up and play once you know your way around the court. You have all the old fav options head to head, three on three with hotspots where you can get more points. The player editor is just pure fun making your misfit team as you can edit how you like make them short and fat or tall and thin it is upto you. There is no franchise mode in this which is where i would say EA has the edge but only there. If you want a fast pace four player game the give it ago i think it is in player choice so only cost you £20 and from game you get seven day trial so give it a go

gillyman - 20/08/03 short and sweet but lacking in information - I quite like the sound of the game though. |
