Advantages: Fast and easy

Disadvantages: Unresponsive control at times

Back with more Gamecube racing. There's so many racing games availible on all formats these days that it's really hard to rise above the rest and not labour in the modecrity of the genre. Gran Turismo chose the realism approach and they stood out for it and the likes of Mario Kart went the arcade action route and made a name for itself. Unfortunatley there are many titles that sit somewhere in the middle and for me i've always felt that the "Need for Speed" franchise is one of those. This time we're with NFS Hot Pursuit.

Another fast racer but with limited options

Graphics - They look good and pretty slick, a very good looking game for the Gamecube and they choose realism over cartoon like cars.

Gameplay - It's fast and relativley easy to pick up but I find it a little unresponsive,the cars don't steer well with the stick as well as you'd like them to.

Sound - Excellent sound track, it seems racing games always have this dance/rock track behind them that really keep in touch with the flow and pace of the game.

Longevtiy - Well theres' plenty of cars and tracks to play but I think this game could very well tire quickly.

Overall - It's a good racing game but thats about it, doesn't do anything to make Need For Speed to stand out from the other racing crowd but theres not too much wrong with the game itself.

Summary: A good racing game and nice attempt
