Advantages: just plain fun, seeing your pikmin grow, and when you get a part its great

Disadvantages: once you've done it once, there's not much point doing it again

This is a really quite outstanding game actually, with a... different storyline than most other games, with no "big bad guy" or anything. In fact, the main enemies are welll... ladybugs.
But dont take this the wrong ay, cause this is one hell of a game, it starts of with Captain Olimar riding round on his ship, in space. however, he gets struck by an asteroid and his ship falls down... down onto an unknown planet. his ship falls apart and only the basics survive, with 30 parts missing, 25 essential and 5 a luxury. also another snag occurs, for he has to find all these 30 parts... in 30 days because he has noly a limited supply of oxygen. but then you start thinking as you play... how can one man scour a whole area and get back 30 heavy parts from his broken ship without any help?
well thats where the pikmin come in! he finds this mysterious onion, which springs up and produces a seed...
after some deliberation, he plucks up the seed and it is... an animal! he calls them pikmin. after you harvest some more pikmin you can get your engine back, and from there you're on your own....

follow captain olimar as he must regain his ship parts but only by days, as monsters come out at night. and Captain Olimar's diary at the end of the day really does bring this fantastic masterpiece to life, with him saying how he misses his family i think is really lifelike.

This fantastic game will have you gripped from the word go, as it did with me! i spent 30 hours+ breeding and growing the pikmin, findind new species, fighting bugs, collecting nectar and most importantly, getting the pieces back.
This is a great game for gamecube, in fact probably one of the best

Summary: brilliant game with lots of high and not many lows
