Advantages: Jirachi to download to your handheld games, quite cute

Disadvantages: Very boring, no plot

Pokemon Channel is probably the worst Pokemon game ever released. All it involves is watching TV that is hosted by Pokemon, and exploring a small town called Mintale.

There are several different channels to watch, including a shopping channel, news and weather reports, an odd one out game (which can earn you virtual money to spend on the shopping channel), and the Pichu Brothers channel, which the game's "plot" revolves around.

This plot, if it can be called that, involves watching an episode called the Pichu Brothers in Party Panic. The episode comes in 5 parts, and one part is unlocked each day you play the game (forcing you to wait between parts of the episode. Without this, the game would be over within a couple of hours, if you don't fancy exploring Mintale town).

There are a couple of nice touches, such as having a virtual Pokemon Mini game to play (you have to buy the games from the shopping channel), and having to collect virtual cards, which can be obtained either from the shopping channel, or by answering simple questions asked by wild Pokemon you will encounter around Mintale town. Also, you do have a Pikachu which follows you around, and you can play fetch with it, get it to do gardening, and a few other things. This is quite glitchy though, and you will often have to click on an item 3 r 4 times before Pikachu will go to it and interact with it.

The only real reason to play this game is to unlock the Jirachi pokemon, which you can transfer to your copy of Pokemon Ruby or Sapphire.

If you really have to play this, rent it for a week, transfer your Jirachi to your game boy game, and then return it. Only the most hardcore Pokemon fan should consider buying this.

Summary: Rent it.
