Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness is the sequel to Pokémon Colosseum for Gamecube which takes you back to the Orre region to hunt shadow Pokémon and defeat the evil crime syndicate called Cipher. Although its got some improvements from Colosseum, its still far from perfect for a 3D RPG Pokémon game. In terms of the storyline, events are pretty basic and predictable. You run around trying to spot the bad guys with Shadow Pokémon who are harassing people in Orre and defeat them while trying to capture their Shadow monsters. Shadow Pokémon come with special shadow attacks which are super effective against all types of monsters. One objective is to collect ... Read the complete review

Pokemon XD Gales of Darkness is a role playing game for the Gamecube developed by Nintendo. The story stars a new hero called Michael (Wes from the previous titles is gone) and you are a Pokemon trainer. Soon after your friend Professor Crane gets kidnapped due to his research with the Shadow Pokemon. You soon find out that the evil Cipher criminal organisation is once again behind this and they are still creating new Shadow Pokemon so your goal is to stop them as well as rescue the professor. The storyline is a little more basic than what was seen in Pokemon Colloseum but it is still a very different aim from the Gameboy titles so fans of Pokemon will relish ... Read the complete review

for the price i payed for this game this was a very bad investment. Not alot of difference from Colleseum apart from the chance to capture a black lugia which in my opinion doesnt justify a price of Ł38. The game is not well paced , the graphics are very good but this doesnt make the whole in my wallet disapear. I think there are alot of people who would enjoy this game very very much but its veryhit and miss with the purification of pokemon it gets a bit annoying. Although the storyline is put a bit better than colleseum i failed to see much difference apart from the being able to catch wild pokemon and the rare appearance of muchlax a 4th gen pokemon which makes a ... This games brought the world of colosseum, into a whole new light. The graphics are far superior than those of the stadium games, and also come with a miriad of fabulous new creatures for you to capture / snag and purify. Your enemy is a team of bandits, looking to use pokemon for their own evil deeds. They do this by poisoning the hearts of wild pokemon, and its up to you as the chosen trainer, to defeat this enemy of pokemon. Their are many features in this game such as collosseums for you to defeat, a similar battling mechanism to that used in the handheld games is what makes this game so great though. This game has alot of ... Read the complete review
