Advantages: Great gameplay as always and scary

Disadvantages: Bit too similar to first game in series

I have played most of the games in the Resident Evil series on different consoles over the years and I have to admit that I do love them but to be honest with you with Resident Evil 2 is very similar to the first one so if you've got that one then it might not be worth buying this too, although is still enjoyable.

The first game featured S.T.A.R.S members Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine, whereas the main characters in Resident Evil 2 are new recruit Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield. Leon has a shotgun and a real mission. His girlfriend is dead thanks to zombies and he wants revenge. He has no fear of death but just wants to kill as many as possible. Claire on the other hand uses her crossbow as an effective weapon.

Resident Evil 2 takes place around six weeks after the events of the original game and is set in Raccoon City. The place is now overrun with zombies everywhere. You can start the game with either Leon or Claire. If you begin with Leon or Claire you start off at opposite sides of town.

The gameplay as always is good and you move around finding objects and solving puzzles, all while killing zombies left, right and centre as they try to kill you. Being able to play as different characters adds to the replay value of the game as always.

I still found that this second game scared me at times and caught me off guard. It had the ability to shock and astound me like the first one which is a good feature to have. It kept me on the edge of my seat.

Overall, Resident Evil 2 is a fun and scary game to play and is a great game in the series. My only reservation is that it is similar to the first one. Try this one if you can find it cheaply but otherwise might be best to stick to the original game.

Summary: Overall, a fun game to play
