Second Sight (GC)

Second Sight was a game I stumbled across whilst browsing in Game. It appealed as I like the idea of telekinesis. The game opens very well when you wake in a medical ward and begin to discover your new powers. The plot is slick and engrossing with many flashbacks during the game. You play a part in the flashbacks so that it isn't just a cut scene. This means you explore different areas all the time as you learn what happened to your character. It worried me that all advertisement dedicated to Free Radical’s latest offering was splashed with the slogan “From the makers of Timesplitters”. Not just in the TV ads and the posters but even the game case itself. The game has nothing to do with the fantastic first person shooter (bar the graphical style) and is fantatic in a totally different way. On the other hand if the slogan allows the game to leech off of the critical and commercial success of Timesplitters 2 then good for it. I personally did not buy this game, as it did not really look like the sort of game I would go for, however, my younger brother saw the television adverts and thought it looked good, and although I advised him against it, he went out and bought it anyway. To my surprise, when I started to play I found it really enjoyable and got quite involved. I don?t usually go for single player games, especially first person shooters, on game consoles, as I feel that if you want to play on your own, the best platform for this would be a PC.
