Advantages: Brilliant flying combat, Nice multiplayer and graphics.

Disadvantages: Terrible ground combat

I have already reviewed the prequel to this, and I gave that game 5 stars. The reason I have not given this game that score is very simple - although the (already excellent) graphics have improved, the framerate is still high and there are more missions, the makers have made one terrible mistake - including ground based combat.

Although previously you simply flew your ship in space (and sometimes above planets attacking ground targets), this time there are also ground based missions. Not only is this totally irrelevant to the concept of the game, they are incredibly bad. They are very easy but you have to run through missions shooting in a very difficult to control way and trying to control the terrible standard viewpoin that you are given. For me this totally ruined the experience and was really annoying for me.

However, there is one area where it has improved significantly, as the multiplayer is far more enjoyable with a wider variety and the ground combat missions actually work well on this!

Summary: This game is still good, but if you are only planning to get on by the second in the series.
