Despite this game being on the gamecube which i feel isn't one of Nintendo's best consoles, the game itself is brilliant. It is a follow on from the original version of the fighting game for the N64. The game was released first in 1999 and has sold over 5 million copies wide and has been described as one of the best gamecube games of all time. The game is a major advancement from the original game with many more and improved features, characters and moves. The general aim of the game is to beat your oppenent in a one on one or sometimes more fight. This is done by using a series of different moves specific to each character and taken from their own games to ... Read the complete review

Super Smash Bros Melee is perhaps the ultimate crowning achievement for Gamecube. The sequel to the highly popular Super Smash Bros on N64 includes enhanced graphics, more characters, and new exciting games and trials. You select from a large arsenal of extremely popular characters from various Nintendo classics and most successful games like Mario, Bowser, Link, Ganondorf, Pikachu, Fox, Samus, Roy, etc. We're talking the heavy hitters from games like Fire Emblem, Donkey Kong and so on. Each character has their own specials and combos but in general the controls are identical so its easy to pick up. You just need to practice with each character to ... Read the complete review

Fighting games are part of an undeniably unique and interesting video game genre. Its history is full of innovation and great amounts of quality games. Not every fighting game is for everybody, though; some games are clearly aimed toward a certain demographic. Initially, the huge appeal of Super Smash Bros. was that it was the ultimate game for any die-hard Nintendo fan. It featured characters from all spectrums of Nintendo gaming -- Mario, Link, Samus, Pikachu, Fox -- all the major franchises were well-represented. And so, once Super Smash Bros. was released for the N64, gamers found a fighter that was for just about everybody. No longer would you have to ... Read the complete review

This is one of my favourite games of all time, the idea that you could put all of Nintendo's most loved and hated characters into a video game and for it to be a success is crazy. But it was a success, this was one of the best Gamecube games released. The main reason for its success is that the game provided great multi-player fun and was an absolute blast if you could get 3 of your mates round to play it with you. The variety of characters was very impressive with Nintendo's well known characters like Mario, Link and Pikachu featuring beside the less well known like Marth, Ice Climbers and Kirby. The game features a whole host of weapons that can ... Read the complete review
