Advantages: Great fun, excellent multi-player, lots of unlockables

Disadvantages: Single player story mode is disappointing

This is one of my favourite games of all time, the idea that you could put all of Nintendo's most loved and hated characters into a video game and for it to be a success is crazy. But it was a success, this was one of the best Gamecube games released.

The main reason for its success is that the game provided great multi-player fun and was an absolute blast if you could get 3 of your mates round to play it with you. The variety of characters was very impressive with Nintendo's well known characters like Mario, Link and Pikachu featuring beside the less well known like Marth, Ice Climbers and Kirby.

The game features a whole host of weapons that can be used against your opponents. My personal favourites are the proximity mind, baseball bat and laser cannon. But you can also use exclusive items like a Pokeball which spawns a Pokemon who will cause damage to your opponents.
Different levels also featured like the Mario kingdon, Zelda's castle and even in Space on the back of Star Fox's vehicle.

The game features a story mode and although there's not much of a story at least Nintendo did include a single player experience. There are also lots of challenges where you have to destroy a number of targets in a time limit or defeat characters under set conditions or play against over 100 opponents in a fight to the death.

To sum up this is a thoroughly enjoyable game which any Nintendo fan will get a kick out of!
