Bokashi Compost Bucket Twin System:
... a family we try our best to do our bit for the environment by recycling and making use of the two regular compost bins we have in the garden for things like Tea bags, fruit/vegetable peelings, egg shells and garden clippings, in a bid to reduce the amount of waste that goes into landfill. I was staggered to learn that it is estimated 6.7 million tonnes of household food waste is produced in the UK each year, whic... Sunshine Of Africa Cocoa Shell Garden Mulch ... love gardens and plants, but weeds are not pleasant, and they can be difficult to control, if like me you refuse to use any chemicals. Sunshine of Africa produce a mulch which is made form the discarded shell of the cocoa bean, so if you purchase this not only will you have the weeds under control, but the aroma from the beds will be adorable! I first saw this used many years ago by the sadly departed Geoff Hamilton, and I also remember Bob Flowerdew, the famous organic gardener using it too. To make the mulch they use the shells which are actually extracted from the beans here in England, and not in Africa, as they are shipped whole and refined to make chocolate, s... Ant Stop! Bait Station ... recent warm weather has been very good for ants, with their breeding cycle being accelerated, getting them ready for their mating flights weeks earlier than usual. I had a close encounter with an ant colony recently when I returned home to find my living room a seething, crawling mass of worker ants on the lookout for food! There were literally hundreds of them crawling about near the window area which faces the back garden. I could see piles of cement dust under the window where the busy little workers had excavated their passageways. I love wildlife, and would never harm ants in the garden, but this was a bit close for comfort! How to get rid of several hundred ... Read the full review: Ant Attack! by markos9 |

Bio Slug Pellets ... and snails are the bane of the keen gardener s life. I m not a mad keen gardener, but since handing my back garden over to my chickens (tip: if you want to get rid of slugs, get chickens; unfortunately the chickens will eat your plants quicker than the slugs!), I wanted to at least have a nice front garden. I invested a small fortune in bedding plants, and have enjoyed watching them develop over the last month or so. I have, however, taken steps to reduce the risk of providing a flowery salad bar for the local molluscs! The past two years wet weather has meant that slugs and snails have had it easy in Britain and have flourished at the expense of garden plants. It ...
