      Very helpful

Fingers crossed that I will get some improvement.

Well, we kind of missed Autumn this year, didn't we? It came and went inside about 10 days as I recall.

Our lawn is in poor condition so I thought I would treat it to a bit of a makeover this year - hence the purchase of this product which is a Lawn Food and Mosskiller.

Our dog had made a bit of a mess of part of the lawn and it had bare patches where he had his favourite wee spots. The soil beneath the lawn isn't very nourishing and when the lawn was first seeded before we moved in, they didn't invest in high quality seed.

All of the above combine to have made this job very necessary so a week before the first lot of snow I set about the task with alacrity.

The size I bought covers 100 square metres so I thought I would test it out on the top lawn which was the worst. After suitable calculation and slavish adherence to the detailed instructions, I spread the granules using the built in funnel dispenser incorporated in the lid of the product.

There was no rain within 2 days of spreading the granules so, following the instructions, I watered the lawn to assist the product to work.

I didn't really get the chance to carry out any of the other instructions. After about 2 weeks, you are supposed to be able to rake out all the dead moss and marvel at your newly refurbished lawn, but within a week of watering it, the snow arrived, took a fortnight to melt and then was closely followed by another helping and sub-zero temperatures. Goodness only knows what the lawn is like beneath the frost.

However, I am hoping I get the same result as my near neighbour who had applied his Autumn Feed in October. The time window given on the container is between early September and mid November. It is to be applied when the weather is fair, the soil moist and the grass dry and frost free. His lawn wasn't in as bad a state as mine but after he had waited the prescribed 2 weeks he was able to rake out lots of dead moss which had gone all black. His lawn has since recovered.

Because I had so many bare patches to start with and more moss than my neighbour, I am fearful of an outcome which will in effect reduce my lawn to a vegetable patch, in which case I shall have to start the lawn again - this time with turf I think.

I'll see how it survives the winter. Until then I can confirm that this product is easy to use and it certainly worked for my neighbour. The rating of 4 out of 5 is based on the results my neighbour has achieved and it was him that told me about this product.
