They are good in so far as they release more feed the hotter the weather, hence you do not get too much green at the wrong time of year. I've used then in my hanging baskets with great success. Sometimes when you buy a new plant you can see the little balls in the soil, no these are not Vine weevil eggs, but slow release feeds. This year I plan to try some on my allotment, see my web page for results.
