Raid Ant Killer Powder
Advantages: easy to apply
Disadvantages: messy, looks untidy
We have a patio outside our front door and over the summer it has become infested with ants, so much so that the path looked like it was moving when you looked out of the window. We occasionally found some of the inside the house which was quite annoying too so I had to go out and buy something to get rid of them. I'm really familiar with the Raid brand so when I saw this I decided to buy it.

The bottle of ant killer is 250g in size and costs £2.00 which is not much really and well worth the investment.
The canister is red and white with a pull off lid, the powder looks like thin white flour and the idea is to pour is along the path of the ants so that they walk it back to the nest and eventually it kills them. The powder can be used to kill cockroaches, spiders, woodlice and other creepy crawlies.
The product takes a few days to work and I still noticed a few ants for about a week after but them the problem completely went away. I liberally applied the powder to all their path lines and around the entrance to the front door. If you hold the can close to the ground you can shake the product out into quite straight lines, targeting specifically the lines that the ants use to travel. I was surprised that despite a good rain fall the powder lasted a really long time on the ground. It looks really bizarre having white powder all over the drive but it was much better than having all the ants roaming around.
I am pleased with the efficiency and effectiveness of the product. Within a week my problem had gone and there were no ants trying to get into my house. I used a full can this summer in order to keep on top of the problem and I should not need any more. A good frost in the winter will make sure they do not reappear and then I will apply it the following year as soon as I see some forming again. The good thing about this product is that you do not need to know where the nest is; the product gets into the nest as the ants track it back there. A good useful product that I recommend.
Summary: A good product
