For my birthday this year my husband bought me a new hammock frame which he found on Amazon. It was a nice gesture but I then had to go and find a hammock to put on it. I tracked down an Amazonas hammock with a spread bar on the Achica.com site and calculated it would be the right size for my hammock frame.
The Amazonas hammocks are good quality but this model is quite small. I had previously been used to a 2-3 person really big hammock and I found the Amazonas is just too narrow to be used with more than one person - or even one person and a cat.
The weave is quite loose which makes the canvas a little more comfortable. The spreader bars at either end mean that the fabric is stretched into an open position which means that the hammock is much less likely to attempt to 'eat' you whilst you're lying in it.
I've not used mine much as I don't find it particularly comfortable or stable but that's more the fault of the frame than the hammock itself. The colours are bright and vibrant and it's an attractive looking hammock. I put the canvas hammock away when it's not in use and this has helped to prevent fading.
I paid around £30 for the hammock and I think it was fairly good value. However, I would recommend to anyone who wants a hammock and frame to try to buy the two parts together as they tend to be much better value that way.
