Well I was expecting alot from our Chiminea - one patio heater doesn't make for the full Mexican evening experience; but it is a beautiful thing. La Jara, meaning 'Big Jar' is just one of many Chimineas that can be bought in the UK. They are made in Mexico by Light My Fire AB of Sweden (www.light-my-fire.com) and are sold with Maya Sticks, a natural firelighter; which are sticks cut from the very sap-rich stumps of a certain tree. They light effortlessly and help to keep midges away from your patio too. The heater, a joy to look at, lighted or not, does throw out considerable heat and burns more or less anything. A lovely additon to anyones patio. Must be protected from frost; suggest taking in doors (garage), and best be covered over in heavy rain as it needs to be dry when used. They are made of porous terracotta so will absorb moisture and crack if exposed to frost.
