Advantages: Versatile, robust

Disadvantages: There are probably cheaper ones about if you shop around

Me and gardening have a strange relationship, I go through phases of being particularly enthusiastic about it and then particularly apathetic. During one of my enthusiastic phases, the handles unceremoniously snapped off our battered but beloved old wheelbarrow. Since this was during an enthusiastic phase, I decided that I absolutely had to replace it. I had never bought a wheelbarrow before (our old one had been left in the shed by our house's previous owner, and had evidently been nicked off a building site- I'm surprised it lasted as well as it did). After a trip to the local garden centre, I decided that the Parsene was the one for me and bought it for about £40.

This wheelbarrow is plenty big enough for almost everything. I use mine mainly for carting weeds about, but it has also been known to shift bricks and wood and various other stuff. It's very comfortable to push. I'm quite tall and find that when I lift up some wheelbarrows to push, the front of the wheel axis collides with the ground and means that I can't push it. This has not been a problem with this barrow. The big, squishy, air-filled tyres give the barrow a nice bit of suspension and makes it easier to push over bumpy ground. It's nicely light too. Our old wheelbarrow was very cumbersome and heavy (probably because it was filled with caked-on concrete and was obviously meant for building work), but still, it's nice to have a nice light barrow to push around.

The wheelbarrow feels very robust and well built. I don't feel like the handles will just snap off. Plus, the barrow is supposed to be rust-proof, so hopefully it won't weaken with age. I'm much too lazy to return my wheelbarrow to the shed every night, so it's nice to know that I can leave it outside and it won't fall apart in the rain. And it hasn't, even after a recent apathetic phase where it's been sat outside for months!

All in all, I'm very happy with my purchase.

Summary: A brilliant wheelbarrow that I'd gladly recommend.
