The plastic basket that we used to take clothes in and out from the washing line had reached its limit after five long years of wear and tear, and we needed a new one. I initially was simply going to replace it with another plastic basket from the likes of Tesco, when I happened to be in B&Q and noticed that they were selling these All Purpose Flexi Tubs, both large and small and I thought the large would be perfect for my washing. I ended up with a pink tub as there were no other colours available at the time I purchased it, this didn't bother me, but I don't think it would have been hubby's first choice of colour.

This large tub cost me just under £6 which is a lot more than what you would typically pay for a plastic washing basket, however I felt that this was much more durable. This tub has a 40 litre capacity and the fact that it is multi purpose means it is perfect for indoor and outdoor use. It has two handles at the top meaning it is very easy to carry, even one handed, and I have had plenty of practice given I am sometimes trying to do household chores with a baby in one arm.

The body of this tub is flexible meaning that it is better for carrying items, plus if it gets drops it isn't a problem unlike other plastic washing baskets which when dropped get cracked.

Although this tub isn't especially designed for laundry, it works very well due to the flexibility of it, so it doesn't matter the weight of the washing I have in it, as the tub will hold it very well and keep it altogether. It is also a perfect size to carry a family load of washing.

All in all, I am so glad that I bought this tub as opposed to a plastic basket, and I have no doubt that it will last me for many more years, and if I tire of it, well it can be used in the garden or for storing toys etc, there are endless possibilities for its usage and so I feel it is well worth the money. The fact that it is flexible makes it perfect for bringing my washing in and out which is what I wanted it for.
