... had to attach yourself to the floor and roof panels. The windowless section had a cracked joist and another very badly warped one.The roofing felt was very cheap. In fact the best part of the shed was the door which was very well made. On contacting the company, they asked me to send photos, and they had no one to come out to see the damage because they were only an internet based company. So I have resigned myself to the fact that the Billyoh online shed company was not really interested any after sales problems. Th...more

Premium Review Garden Sheds in General: metal sheds steer clear (473 words)

We ordered a mail order shed and cant remember the name of the company but thats not important as it is not the company i want to tell you about it is the shed which is avalable from a large variety of places. We ordered a 6 foot by 4 foot green and grey metal shed, sent payment through the post to the company at the same time as ordering and 5 days later they phoned to arrange a delivery date. When the shed arrived i stupidly thought it would be assembled but it wasnt, we had to do that our selves. Ok i thought how difficult can this be, i opened up the boxes on my lawn looked at the instructions and there were no words just pictures, no ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review My Secret Hide Out (354 words)

What garden is complete without a shed? None that I've ever been in charge of, I can tell you that much. I know they're not for everyone but I've always been one of those blokes who feels his garden just doesn't look like a garden without. There'd be nowhere to hide when the dishes need doing without my shed come to think of it. And heaven forbid - nowhere to store the barbie either! I like to think of my shed as my little garden kingdom to be honest. I know, it's a bit sad really, but I'm a simple man with simple needs. Don't tell the Mrs, but there's actually a little beer fridge in mine... I ran electricity out to it last year when I was doing ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Garden Sheds in General: I had mine made to measure! (769 words)

Well, I had my garden shed made to measure! If you’d like to know why – read on, it is a cautionary tale. The house in which I now live, is an end terraced house with a drive to the side. When I moved in there was a large somewhat unsightly garage at the end of the drive with a gap between it and the house for access to the rear of the property. Oh dear, I’m beginning to sound like an estate agent! There was a little shed in the garden, which was OK for storing my garden tools. I used the garage for the larger stuff as I don’t drive and naturally enough didn’t have a car! This arrangement was fine until one day I ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review In the beginning there was a heap of junk... (640 words)

In the beginning there was a heap of junk, but not the sort of junk you could throw away. There were flowerpots and tennis rackets with only one string broken, and garden chairs that only needed a little mending to make them just as uncomfortable as they used to be. They were all in the garage, but the car wasn't. The Crime Prevention Officer sucked in his breath, just the way that car salesmen do when you want to trade in your car. "Lot of car theft in this area", he said, "it really should be in the garage", and proceeded to tell how few cars are stolen from a locked garage. Logical really, when you think about it. So then ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Garden Sheds in General: A man's castle is his shed (400 words)

Sheds have an unhappy association with the sort of man who smokes a pipe and wears a cardigan. They are supposed to be full of gardening bits, a quiet retreat. I've had my shed for about 2 years now, bought secondhand as a home for my collection of paints, screws and man other bits that I'll probably never use. Men tend to like hoarding these things and hate to throw anything out that may turn out to be usefull, one day. My shed is 8 x 6 ft, it has a pent roof, ie it slopes backwards rather than meets at a point and it is made of shiplap boarding. Anyone buying a shed should try to avoid the sterling board type floor, this will over ...  Read the complete review
