Advantages: guaranteed not to rust

Disadvantages: dont last long enough to rust

We ordered a mail order shed and cant remember the name of the company but thats not important as it is not the company i want to tell you about it is the shed which is avalable from a large variety of places.

We ordered a 6 foot by 4 foot green and grey metal shed, sent payment through the post to the company at the same time as ordering and 5 days later they phoned to arrange a delivery date.

When the shed arrived i stupidly thought it would be assembled but it wasnt, we had to do that our selves.

Ok i thought how difficult can this be, i opened up the boxes on my lawn looked at the instructions and there were no words just pictures, no sizes for parts or numbers so you had to guess which piece was which from a small black and white picture.

4 hour,4 whole hours i had been out there trying to put this stupid shed together and had only managed to build the frame work,i couldnt get the corrogated pieces of metal for the sides and roof to line up with the holes in the frame to screw it togeter.

I know im blond but after 4 hours came to the conclusion i must be very dim i cant even put a shed together.

I phoed my husband and dad who had very kindly left me too it to go to a clasic car show, when they got back they attempted to put the roof on and realised the holes were in he wrong places so had to drill there own, so it wasnt me it was the shed.

eventually afer about 10 hours i had a shed and thought great, no need to paint it , it wont rot and is guarateed not to rust for 10 years.

Metal sheds dont have any bases so you have to put it on slab, so we put it on my patio ancored it to the slabs with the 6 inch screws provided. the first bit of rough wind and the thing blew over taking my slabs with it, so we put the slabs back down and concreted the inside of the shed up to the door bar to the slabs.

It still managed to blow over breaking the cement that was holding it, this winter i have tied it to the fence posts, 8 foot concrete posts and it pulled them down, i gave up and gave it to the tat man.

Its not as if its even that windy in our garden we have a wooden wendy house that has stayed exactly where i put it for 3 years with out any problems, i think i will stick to wood in future.

Summary: stick with wood
