Advantages: Handy, Compact, Durable, Easy to Assemble

Disadvantages: Expensive

These metal storettes are brilliant if you don't want to have a shed or you don't have enough space in your garden for one. My Sister In Law was asking for my assistance with sheds last year and after a bit of thinking we realised this was the best solution to her problem. As a single Mum of four, she likes to keep the garden tidy for the kids to use but obviously has a lot on her plate without worrying about prize roses or perfectly trimmed bushes. So she just has her basic garden tools and a little mower for keeping the grass in check.

You can buy this model from either Homebase or Argos for the same price as the companies are related and offer some of the same items. Their not usually called metal storettes though to be honest - usually storage sheds or metal garden cupboards actually. They're great little solid cupboards that don't take much to maintain and keep your tools safe through the winter months even.

It's ideal for my Sister In Law because like I said, she doesn't have too much to store and didn't want something too complex to assemble either. I did say I'd help her out if she wanted but she was quite happy to take this flat pack kit home and sort it out by herself. When I saw her the following week, she said it had taken her well under an hour to get this assembled and stash all her tools inside. She did find she had to nip to Woolies to get a padlock though because there wasn't one included. I do think that's a bit of a rip off given that these cost £90 each.

I do recommend these to those with small gardens and few tools yes but they're certainly not for people looking for a budget alternative to a shed. For another £50 you could buy a proper shed.

Summary: An Ideal Shed for Small Spaces but Not Budgets

More indepth info would be handy here. If its flat pack assembly how heavy is it? What kind of lock does it have? And more importantly is it already weather treated or can you paint it?
