“ Type: Garden Gloves „
I have recently discovered some smashing gardening gloves. They are Yeoman Light Choice Gardening Gloves and I believe they are specifically designed to be worn by women as they are on the small side but then my hands are not massive so I find these very comfortable. I do quite a lot of gardening and at the moment I am moving some spikey rose bushes out of the garden and digging up bramble bushes as we are having some decking put in now the weather is nice and warm.
The only thing I am not too keen on about these gloves is the colour but then as they are designed for women I suppose I shouldn't really complain. My other half and me share these gloves but I think it's me who personally finds them the most comfortable. The colour is grey and purple (almost lilac) and a little feminine looking to be honest, I think, but they do such a great job I cannot complain.
They are lightweight yet are very good at protecting my hands and wrists from scratches and knocks. They come in small, medium and large sizes and the ones we have are large (but for a man they still are a bit on the small side). They have a good suede bit on the palm and a reinforced cuff which makes for a much better fit Ipersonally feel. They also have a mesh area on the back and this allows the hands to 'breathe' whilst doing gardening jobs and allows my hands to not get all sweaty as I am working.
They are very comfortable to wear and seem to be very durable. Lightweight and flexible and not at all stiff like you might think. They were well worth £6.50 I paid for them.

Gardening gloves were always something I have done without, despite thinking now and then that I should buy some I never got around to it until towards the end of last summer.
I had been battling with the shrubs and trees in the garden with hedge cutters and long reach pruners and when picking up the discarded branches, I found that some of them were quite prickly and it was really tricky trying to pick them up. It was then that I decided I would definitely invest in some gardening gloves and not wanting to put it off any longer, I ordered these gloves from Amazon.
To be honest I didn't spend any time weighing up the options and after looking at a couple of pairs of gloves I decided on these Yeoman Light Choice Gloves in a medium size. I also found the grey, lilac and blue colours more appealing than any others I had seen, not that this really matters of course as I am certainly not fashion conscious when I am gardening!
I bought a medium-sized pair even though I have small hands, as I thought by buying a medium sized pair, my partner could use them too.
All gardening gloves I have came across seem to be made mostly of a suede fabric and these gloves are no different in that they have suede leather palms. On the back of the gloves they have a breathable mesh to keep your hands cool and comfortable and prevent sweating. The cuffs are the thickest parts of these gloves and are reinforced for protection.
I cannot fault the quality of these gloves, they seem well made and strong and do a good job of protecting your hands.
I personally have found that the gloves are too restricting to wear when carrying out some jobs in the garden and they feel somewhat cumbersome when I am wearing them, this is due to the reinforced cuffs more than anything else, but they are also perhaps a little on the large side for my hands. Indeed my partner, who has larger hands than me, seems to find these easier to wear than me. However, despite this, I still find they are ideal for picking up prickly branches and weeds and this job is far easier when wearing these gloves than it is without. I also wear them when I am emptying the grass box on my lawn mower, but when wearing them for any other gardening job I not only find them too restrictive, but also they have a tendency to slip from my hands.
The fingers on the gloves offer adequate protection without feeling too chunky and thanks to the mesh your hands don't become too hot or uncomfortable when you are wearing them. Another comfort bonus is that the gloves are lightweight despite all the protection they offer and therefore they don't feel heavy when you are wearing them. And of course, there is the added bonus that you are hands stay clean when wearing these gloves too.
I would certainly recommend these gardening gloves as the quality is really good. Mine are showing no signs or wear and tear and are still intact except for them being dirty. Having said that, these gloves are washable and I have had mine in the washing machine and they wash well, although it is impossible to get all the stains out from the grass etc.
I am pleased I purchased these gloves as it has made picking up branches and garden waste a much easier and cleaner job and the reinforced cuffs, although a little cumbersome, provide protection for my wrists as well as my hands, thus keeping them free from scratches when picking up prickly branches. Although I personally cannot wear these gloves for all my gardening tasks they have still been a very worthwhile purchase.
