Wilkinson Sword Power Plus Pruners ... just moved in to a new house at the end of summer last year, we have been faced with an outburst of new bushes and various plants shooting off incredible new leaves and so on in the garden this spring. I needed something to keep it all under control before all the pathways were overtaken by Triffid lookalikes. So on a trip to Homebase, I saw the Wilkinson Sword products and picked up these pruners hoping they would be up for the job due to their good name in garden tools. I wasn t let down either. The pruners fit comfortably in my hand and have soft grip handles for added grip. This just means the feel is similar to scooter or bike handles and is a soft foam type... Wilkinson Sword Pruners ... ve been a bit disappointed with these pruners considering how much they cost. When I pay £15 for a garden tool I expect it to be exceptionally good at what it does but this just isn t. In fact I ve used equally good tools in the past from B&Q and Wilkinsons (the bargain store) for a fraction of the price. The real problem with these is that the blades are quick to blunt and the handles aren t as solid as they should really be. So if you re trying to cut exceptionally thick branches with these, you don t really stand a chance. Even with thin branches I can t say I ve found this as easy as I expected them to be. I paid a premium for this brand name tool delibe... Read the full review: A Garden Tool to Avoid by DavyMichelle |

Spear & Jackson Select Folding Pruning Saw ... dad brought me one of these after he saw me hacking away at my privit with a plaster board saw. This saw is fantastic, i have used it to cut all of my privit down to the ground this summer, to cut off the branches of my tree that were hanging down too low, to prune the shrubs and to dig the add weed out even though it isnt meant to be used for weeds. This saw cut through my privit with ease which i thought was good but was not sure it would be up to the job of cutting branches off my tree, but it was and even the thicker branches it managed without much effort. This saws blade folds back into the handle which i have found is brilliant for being able to put in my po... Read the full review: great pruning tool by barbie84 |
