      Very helpful

      A top quality spade

      This spade is small because it is a border spade but I bought it because I thought it was a ladies spade being so small and dainty! It does exactly the same job as a larger spade but it is lighter to lift and shifts less soil. I love being in the garden and although it is less often now that I need to use the spade, I do occasionally use it to edge the side of the lawn and turn over the flower beds.

      ==Price and availability==

      The spade is decently priced at £19.00. I was quite surprised at the price as the spade is branded by Draper which have a solid reputation for making high quality equipment.

      The spade is made from stainless steel so it should not oxidise and rust. The y shaped handle has a rubberised grip to ensure you have a firm hold on it. The blade on the spade is very sharp and thin, ensuring that you get a razor cut into the ground. This is really important when bordering the lawn for example. The blade is mirrored and smooth so that it should find hardly any resistance as you make your first incision. The overall weight of the spade is 1.7KG making it sturdy yet easy to handle.

      The spade is great to work with and I enjoy using it. It lives in the shed where I hang it up by the handle. The mirrored blade is less shiny now but it is still in really good condition and very sharp. The blade has enough room either side for you to push your foot on to it in order to give it that extra welly into the ground. It is a comfortable manoeuvre and it puts a lot less pressure on your back. If you were doing a lot of shovelling and spade work I would advise against this tool as it is more suited to the lighter aspects of garden work. The quality of the spade is second to none; it is made to a very high standard of craftsmanship. The mirrored finish stops any soil from sticking to it and actually has a function as well as looking good. I would definitely recommend this spade and if you can buy such a decent piece of equipment for less than 20 pounds you are on to a winner.
