My elderly mother loves her garden but now finds it difficult to knee down as she has arthritis in her knees. Last summer whilst browsing in my local garden centre I came across a product that I thought would help her to continue working in her beloved garden. The product was a folding gardening seat that can also be used as a kneeler.

The product is made by Draper, a family firm. It measures 540 x 250 x 400 mm and can be folded flat when not in use. There is a thickly padded blue foam kneeling pad, which can be flipped over to reveal a plastic seat pad. The foam is really well padded and very comfortable to kneel on.

The frame also has very useful handles that allow you to push yourself upright. The frame is really sturdy and is suitable up to a weight of 19 ½ stones. I can't remember exactly how much I paid for the kneeler but see Amazon is selling it for £19.22 .The R.RP is £35.76 and it is widely available.

The frame is made from weatherproof tubular steel .It is really easy to fold down and is light to lift and move around. My mum was thrilled with her present and it has really made a difference to her in enabling her to knee down to weed and plant. It is also really useful that this kneeler/seat has two handles that help you to push yourself up.

The seat is really useful when you need to do low level jobs that would require you do crouch for long periods. I recent used the set when I was painting a garden bench; so much more comfortable that bending!

Overall I think this is a well made and very useful piece of kit for anyone who wants to protect their knees whilst gardening or undertaking any job that requires you to kneel or bend. I really would have no hesitation in recommending this product, just shop around to get the best price!
