A quality well designed tool, which really does work, at a bargain price.

      Fiskars Lifestyle Tree Cutter 909130

This product is an excellent garden tool for pruning trees and high shrubs.
The most important aspect of using such a tool is that it is sharp and light.
We had one previously which was sharp and worked quite well but it was so heavy that you could only use it for short bursts of time before your arms and shoulder ached but not so with this Fiskars Lifestyle Tree Cutter. Even I, a 68 year old female used it with ease.

      ***What it looks like***
It looks good quality, sturdy but light and very well designed
It consists of a long aluminium pole about 5 feet tall so it easily fits into your shed but this pole is telescopic and extends to nearly 8 feet for reaching high branches.
At the top of this pole is an adjustable head and a really sharp carbon coated steel cutting blade. The pack comes with a 12 inch pruning saw for pruning larger branches.

      ***How it works***
You extend the pole to the height you require and place the hook part of the head over the branch you wish to prune. Push the little handle on the cord to the right place to make the cord taut and then pull the cord which operates the cutting blade with a sharp downward movement and hey presto the branch drops down. The cutter should cut easily through branches about 1 inch thick or even a little more. For the really thick branches you need to fit on the pruning saw.
Always use this first about half way down a branch and with a backward sawing action (not the to and fro action of a wood saw). After that saw the remaining part of the branch as close to the trunk as possible. This is the safest way to prune large heavy branches. Also do make sure you wear safety glasses as sharp twigs and debris and sawdust can easily fall into your eyes. You can also use the saw attachment separately for pruning low thick branches and plants.

***More Great Things About this Tool***
It has a 10 year guarantee
It is exactly the same tool as the Wilkinson Sword Lifestyle Tree Cutter (as Fiskars make Wilkinson Sword brand tools) but it is sold at a much cheaper price. We bought ours on Amazon for £33.93 and the Wilkinson Sword is sold on Amazon at £50.03
I made an enquiry at Fiskars and they confirmed they were the same tool!
