I bought these predominantly because they were cheaper than other brands, I don't like to spend over the odds of things if cheaper versions will do. Yes that does also mean that sometimes I buy rubbish and could have saved myself time and money by spending a little bit more in the first place.

Secateurs are a must have piece of kit, I think anyway. They are essential for pruning, cutting, shaping any number of trees, bushes, etc around your garden. I have a few bushes and overgrown branches from my neighbour's garden that I needed to trim and shape. I bought these for that purpose. The easy thumb lock is easy to put on and off, these also have a stem crusher between the handles but I haven't used that yet. Once open I put the secateurs to work, cutting overgrown privet hedge branches to re-shape the bush growing my garden. They worked relatively well although I do find the blades tend to stick sometimes. The handles themselves are comfy to hold and grip when cutting. The more I use them, the more they seem to stick together, both while round a branch and when open, sometimes I have to open the with both hands rather than being able to use them one handed.

For under £5 which is what I paid for them, I am getting what I paid for so can't really complain. I have tried using WD40 on them but this has made no difference sadly. They are still usable but over time they are getting harder to use. I do not know this is down to how much I paid for them, maybe all makes do this?
