The shovel itself feels strong , sturdy and familiar in your hands. It is also coated in an epoxy of sorts which helps soil and concrete to slide easily from it (like a non stick frying pan). I have had this shovel from Spear & Jackson for a few years now and it it is still going strong. It is a very well made all round shovel. It has been used for a variety of tasks and always does itself proud. I've used it many a time to mix concrete , it has shifted tonne after tonne of gravel over the years , dug a ditch for my gas mains and a huge variety of other tasks.
