      Good Garden Tool

So here is yet another garden tool that I occasionally crack out the shed and put to good use. I am not overly keen on gardening, but the garden we have does need a little bit of love and attention every now and again. The fact is the less gardening I have to do the happier I am, but obviously things grow and weeks come up, and things need taking care of. So as far as I am concerned, any gardening tool that makes things a little bit easier is fine by me. I don't use a wide range of tools in the garden, just the basics, and this I would say is one of those basic tools that pretty much every gardener will use. The Wilkinson Sword Stainless Steel Border Fork.

So to describe this is one word I would simply say, fork! Admittedly it's a rather large fork, but that is the basic facts about what we are looking at here. The product is called a border fork, so it is probably often used for tidying up borders of the garden. As you can probably tell from my wonderful descriptive language, I am no expert when it comes to this sort of thing.

The fork section of this is made from stainless steel. It looks very strong and durable, I have been using this fork for quite some time now and none of the prongs are bent or damaged in any way, despite occasionally being pounded against a rock or two. The shaft is made from wood and has a nice finish on it, if it gets wet or muddy it is very easy to wipe down with a damp cloth. The plastic handle is designed in a nice way to make sure that it is ergonomic, in other words it fits nicely into your hands. Even when I have been using this for a longer period of time, it still feels comfortable in my hands.

I usually use this for breaking up and hard bits of soil that may have clumped together. It's also good for raking up the soil, just pop it into the ground, put your foot on the shoulder of the fork and push down. The tips of the fork are sharp enough to bite down into the earth and get you some good purchase. I also have used it for simply making a few holes in the grass, if there is a spot where water can build up, a few pokes with this and the water seems to drain away better.

The main reason I bought this fork is that is was a reasonable price and a name that I recognised. You can pick one of these up for around £15, which is pretty good value considering it should last you for many years. It also comes with a ten year guarantee so this really shows that the manufacturers know that it is hard wearing and will last well.

So overall this gets the thumbs up. As I mentioned I don't have vast experience in this field nor do I enjoy gardening, but the fact is this fork does everything I would expect it to and it seems very hard wearing. So for those reasons this piece of gardening equipment will be getting the five star rating from me. Buy one of these Wilkinson Sword Forks and you will find that it last you a long time and works very well.
