Gatineau Floracil Gentle Cleansing Lotion
~About~
Gatineau was founded in 1885 by Madame Jeanne Gatineau. Jeanne devoted her entire life to beauty and making women and men all over the world feel good about themselves and making products that we're good for the skin and that delivered results.
She opened her ... first salon in Paris in 1937, Jeanne worked close with Doctors and Dermatologists to develop her first line of skincare products. In 1950 Jeanne's first Gatineau school was opened in Paris, there Jeanne shared her knowledge and teaching them about skin, creams an Gatineau techniques that are still used to this day.
Jeanne's success of her first salon was just the beginning of her very successful brand to be named Gatineau.
Many of Gatineau's products are ahead of the beauty industry. They were the first skincare brand to develop exfoliators and slimming creams that actually worked. They use ingredients such as green tea, vitamins A, E and F also a range of anti-oxidants.
~About the product~
This product is non-oily and alcohol free. It cleans and soothing on the eye area. It has been designed with the same pH as your natural tears.
It removes all eye makeup including waterproof mascara. There is no need to rub or irritate the delicate eye area as you soak a cotton wool pad in the product and press onto eye area.
It can be used as a multi product as it is combined with anti-inflammatory properties and can also be used as a cold eye press to help decongest the eye area.
Ingredients include:
* Chamomile and Cornflower to sooth fragile skin around the eyes
* Stimulates microcirculation with an algae extract to diminish dark circles
* Glycol to lightly moisturise
~Packaging~
This product comes in a clear plastic bottle with either a white screw off lid or in the bigger sizes it comes with a white pump action lid for easy access to the product.
At the back of the bottle it says it gently removes makeup from the eye area without drying.

~Personal Review~
I saw this product advertised on QVCUK years ago and thought its got to be too good to be true, there saying it removes all eye makeup even waterproof mascara, no need to drag, pull the delicate eye area and has all theses wonderful ingredients to help the eyes. No irritation even to the most sensitive eyes.
At first I didn't buy it off QVCUK I bought it from another website instead a few years later. I bought it mostly because I was sick of other eye makeup removes saying there product did the same and for me it never removed anything unless I kept it on my eyes for half an hour and kept pulling at my eyes for even a drop of mascara to come off. Also it wasn't good for money as I was using loads to get it to work so that is when I thought I would give Gatineau's Floracil a try.
I can't remember which site I got it off but I bought for the 400ml. I have had it for more than 12 months and I have a quarter left. That is what I call value for money.
The product itself is a light blue/green colour, very light in texture and it smells really fresh.
To use to put some product onto a cotton pad (I find theses better and easier to use than cotton balls) I press the cotton pads onto the eye area and press gently with the tips of my fingers. When you press it onto the eye area whether it will be the first time for 100th time it will always feel cool and refreshing.
I leave it on for a while so the product can stink down into the day's makeup and dissolves it.
When I take the pads away I do noticed an outline of my mascara and some of my eyeshadow. As soon as I gently wipe off my eyeshadow it all comes off in one sweep. Mascara wise I have to wipe a few times for it to all come off and I don't even wear waterproof. I would recommend if you do to leave the pads on longer so it can dissolve more.
Normally I have to turn the pads round to try and get more mascara off and you'll be surprised how dirty the pads are in the end. Even by just wearing mascara and no eyeshadow.
I have even used this product when my eyes feel tired and in need of TLC. Again put some product onto a cotton pad and place on the eye area for 15 minutes or so. Your eyes will feel cool and refreshed. When you take the pads off your eyes feel and more look fresh and awake. A great pick me up.

Gatineau Melatogenine Day & Night Cream
by natalie90
I got a sample of this Gatineau cream from my local Beauty Salon with a creme wash and eye makeup remover. It came in a small tube and I used the three steps in conjunction, so wash, remove eyemakeup then moisturise.
First thing I noticed with the cream was the smell, I have it on now and it is a fresh smell that is quite ... sweet and has that 'expensive' smell. Although I do like the smell. The cream itself is quite thick so I don't need a lot to do my face and neck. It is a day and night cream so is great if you are visiting friends or away from home from any length of time and are restricted on space in your luggage.
I do like the cream although it leaves a slightly greasy residue on my face so I tend not to use it during the day underneath my makeup as my face is oily enough without adding to it!! But overnight I don't mind it and when I get up in the morning my face is so soft and smooth so it works its magic overnight! My mum and I have both used this cream for a few weeks and she says that the cream hasn't done much to making her look younger (as the tube claims) or reducing her wrinkles.
I think normally it is around £60 or so for a 50ml pot of this cream. In my honest opinion I wouldn't pay it! I personally think a lot of these higher end skin creams are way overrated and I have had better moisturising creams from Olay, Nivea and L'Oreal for a fraction of the price and are usually on offer in some supermarket or another! Although I do like the Gatineau moisturising cream, I don't think it is worth it, the cream is nice, but not that nice! Read the complete review |

Gatineau Body Lotion With A.H.A.
by freud
Some months ago (when I had some spare cash - ha!) I was seduced by a presentation on QVC featuring various skin & body lotions. Knowing that I had the 30 day no quibble money-back guarantee I decided to but the Gatineau Body Lotion with AHA for £28 plus p&p as my skin was feeling very dry & in need of some ... tlc.
The product arrived a few days later & is exactly as shown in the picture. The pump action container is 400g & lasts for ages (should do at this price!).
The lotion itself is a great consistency neither too thick nor too thin & therefore it doesn't clog up the dispenser. It's white when you see it but is absorbed straightaway into the skin & you don't have to rub it in too much.
the smell is nice but nothing special & soon fades but I did notice an improvement in the texture of the skin within a few days & it definitelty felt more supple & moisturised.
On the the Gatineau body lotion leaflet it's telling me 'AHAs extracted from [assion fruit provide a mild exfoliating action allowing the moisturising plant extract to penetrate more easily into your skin feeling incredibly soft, supple & silky smooth' - really??
Well I must say that although my skin did improve I feel it would have done with most body lotions. Yes, it's a nice product & yes, it has a nice enough smell & yes, is easy to use but would I buy it again? - no, not for this price I'm afraid.
OK - it's a salon-use product so using this at home saves pounds but I really can't justify purchasing another one at this price as cheaper ones often give me almost the same results & have a nicer smell.
I don't really know why there's all the hype for Gatineau products - apart from the throat gel (which is superb) I've never got excited by any of their other products finding them far too expensive for the results I've had - many have been returned to QVC I have to say.
Now then if I were to win a prize or be given a load of Gatineau products for a present that would be a different story ........!
summary
~
- a good product but, in my opinion not worth £28.
- easy to use & good results but I think I'd get these from cheaper body lotions.
- if you read reviews on QVC they're mixed so worth a read first if you're considering buying?
- everyone talks about the smell which is nice enough but didn't get excited about the fragrance.
- wouldn't buy again but would use if it was given to me! Read the complete review |
