Advantages: easy to apply, fairly good results, lasts ages

Disadvantages: price, price, price!

Unfortunately a friend of mine found she was allergic to this cream so she gave me the jar after only having used a tiny bit on a cotton bud. I've used several of Gatineau's products (with varying degrees of success) so I was delighted. She bought it from QVC but missed the 30 day money-back guarantee but I'd advise perhaps buying it from there to try out - if it's not for you at least you'd get your money back (less p&p)

Let me point out that this range is not for the younger skin - it's aimed at more mature ladies & gents - so save your money!

It retails at around £71.75 for 50ml which is well out of my price range & the lovely glass jar is packed in a box along with a detailed leaflet which includes directions for use & ingredients. Unfortunately though, as I've found with many of their products, the writing is miniscule & mostly in French - but a product costing this much I persevered. The ingredients don't mean a lot to me I wasn't worried because Gatineau are a reputable skin & beauty care company. The directions, however, are easy enough to follow.

I've found it's best to use this thickish cream by using a cotton bud then transferring to the finger & pat gently into the face rather than rub or smooth as I found it can drag the skin slightly. Only a little is required so I'm hoping it will last some time for this price & using a cotton bud helps prevent contamination.

The cream itself is white & has a faint floral smell & I particualrly like the way it's absorbed straight into the face & neck & doesn't feel greasy or heavy although I must say I'm aware of wearing it.

It claims to be a 'revolutionary cream which is designed to make the skin appear firmer & more toned' & I have to agree to a certain extent.

When you first apply it you can feel the face & neck feel a little tighter (but not uncomfortable) & then it seems to settle & does indeed make the skin look more firm. The thing I noticed most though was how soft my face & neck felt almost immediately.

After a couple of weeks I was surprised to see that my face looked more contoured - my cheekbones seemed more evident & even the pores on my skin looked somewhat diminished. I also have quite deep lines across the bridge of my nose which seem to have 'filled in' a little - however, no -one has commented on any improvement !

It's also easy to remove with cleanser & I've noticed the relaxing sensation when it's off so I suppose it must be doing its job?

I'd say it's a good product but not a miracle one & am not sure whether the results are worth the price (I would have paid) but will update you if anything dramatic happens in the next few weeks....

Summary: may get as good results using other cheaper creams?
