First let me start this review with a confession. My husband bought six of theses glasses for an engagement gift however when I found out how much he had spent I was pretty shocked as it was more than we had recieved from them as our wedding gift. As a compromise we decided to give two glasses as a gift and keep the remaining four for ourselves. I therefore initially wasn't very impressed with these glasses as we already had several standard flutes however I soon changed my mind when I started to use them. ( and that's not the champagne talking!)
The first thing that stands out is the slightly unusual shape as the stem is quite thick, solid and heavy. They also weigh considerably more than your normal flutes which may come as a surprise when you first pick them up. I have to say that I really enjoy drinking from the flutes and the weight adds to the feeling of luxurious indulgence that comes from drinking champagne. The glasses balance well and drinking from them is a joy. They have a very modern contemporary feel to them and if your home is similar then these glasses would be an ideal addition to it. LSA is a well known glassware brand that specialises in hand made modern galssware. The only downside is that they can be a little awkward to clean especially if you have a champagne cocktail. I tend to fill them with some soapy water before cleaning them propoerly in this instance works well.
Of course now for the bad news.....the cost. A box of 6 will be around £60 to £70. I have seen a gift box of two for £24 which would make a lovely gift. ( Take note husband of mine a gift of TWO!) A box of 6 would make a very nice wedding gift to a modern couple. Just kicking myself I didnt see these before making my own wedding list as I would have put them on it.
Overall a lovely gift to get or a treat to yourself but not cheap.
