I love playing golf and have a set of Hippo golf clubs, play every other weekend or so, however, the magpie in the nest is a two iron from Titliest which a friend gave me several years ago. I use the club as a rescue iron from the fairway and sometimes from the tee on awkward par fours or long par threes. The club is immediately apparent in my bag because the number along the side of the club differs from Hippo, not surprising I suppose but the number is long, curly and is black embossed.
The club itself has a long handle which is mottled brown and grey, the handle is tightly bound and fits extremely comfortably in the palm of the hand. The metal of the club is grey/silver and goes down to a graduated club head with fine grooves. The grooves are tighter than Hippo and theoretically the more grooves the more power flowing through the shot into the ball and the further down the fairway as a result.
Titliest are of course a well known golf equipment manufacturer and the quality is apparent in the golf club, the club feels light in your hands and has a large sweet spot in the middle of the club. There is also a nice feeling as you go through your swing and generally gives an impression of power going through the club inot the ball and down the fairway. I'd say after my putter, my 8 iron, my titliest 2 iron is the third most used club from my bag and is one I've treasured since that friend gave me all those years ago.
If you need to buy one, these clubs retail at around £15 from all good sports shops. Watching the open golf championship is really making me want to pull out my clubs and go for a round.
