Links Choice 24 Balls
Advantages: Colour, price, flight
I have long been a (lady!) golfer, and I have never before used yellow golf balls but I've gone to the dark (or should that be light?!) side, and purchased the Links Choice 24 Balls which are a set of neon yellow balls for dusk use. Here is my review:
**Price and Availability**
The Links Choice 24 Balls in Neon Yellow seem to vary in price, it's not a brand I'd actually heard of previously but I wanted to try some yellow balls with the sun setting so early in the winter months. I paid £17 for a plastic box of 24 balls, from my local golf club shop, the average price online looks to be around £15 so it's not too bad a price. I've seen them since in Sports Direct, and online so I'd say they are fairly easy to get hold of.
The Links Choice Balls are pretty basic looking really with the standard dimpling, decent neon yellow colouring and black stamped Links Choice logo.
The balls have a good feel to them, not too soft, which I don't like, and have a good lift and carry for my swing, certainly they're balls I am happy to use day to day. Of course the big draw for me and the reason I bought them was the colour - when playing in dusky or poor weather conditions, the bright colour of the balls means that I can see my game much better. Certainly for the money (and you can pay a lot for golf balls) these fit the bill and as my first foray into coloured balls I'm pretty happy with the results.
There isn't too much bounce on the putt, too, which I like, some balls are too soft and spongy for me.
Yes, I'd be happy to recommend the Links Choice 24 Balls, I think they're a fair price, hit well, and are easy to spot. For the money, which is about average for a non pro ball (non personalised too), they're a decent ball, which my golfing friends have tried to and agree is perfectly acceptable for everyday use. It definately makes my game that bit easier when playing in less than perfect light conditions be it dusk or just very overcast or pre rain type darkness.
I recommend the Links Choice balls, especially if you can pick them up around £15, and I'll give them 5 / 5 for being decent, mid to low budget balls which are very versatile. Well done Links Choice, I might not have heard of you before but I'll certainly be on the lookout for your brand again.
Summary: A good neon golf ball
