I received this as a gift and loved it, so I purchased it for a family member at Christmas - here's my buying - and - using - review :)
-- What is it? --
The Longridge Executive Golf Putting Set is a gift or novelty item for the golfing enthusiast meaning they can sink a few putts in their office, hotel room, on the street or anywhere they please (well, anywhere with a smooth surface handy!)
-- Price and Availability --
You can pick up the set now at Amazon for £17.32 with free delivery - this is the cheapest that I have seen it, I purchased it at a golfing gift store for £24. Prices can go as high as £32 so I'd shop around.
It's available online, but I've not seen it in any major high street stores. I have seen this (and purchased from) a specialist green side shop.
-- Looks --
The set is smartly presented in a black zip up leatherette case with a soft green inner. It holds the golfing equipment with black, stitched on, elasticated straps.
It's styled in black, green, silver and white, and is very 'executive' looking, to fit in with it's primary market. It is however suitable for all ages and sexes. It is presented in a square cardboard box covered in colour images and is very easy to wrap, if you're giving this as a gift!
The case has a wrist strap for carrying if required.
-- Contents --
The set includes:
The leatherette case
A four piece screw apart putter
Two golf balls
One white putting cup
-- Use --
All you need to do is find a flat smooth surface for your cup (the area over which you putt is obviously your choice). As the cup is a standard plastic one and not an auto return, however, there will be plenty of walking back to the cup to retrieve / hit back your ball!
The putter is surprisingly well made and weighted, with a good sturdy feel to it once screwed together, and gives an authentic putting experience. The balls too are of a decent quality. Overall the set is very easy to use, put together, and rather than feel cheap as some of the less expensive plastic putting sets can.
-- Overall - Would I Recommend? --
Not only do I think this was a fun and well thought out gift to receive, I liked it so much I purchased it for a golf loving family member, and he loved it too! So I have no doubt that if you were to purchase this as a gift, either for the golf enthusiast to practice their putting technique, or for an executive to alleviate stress, that it would be well received.
The price, based on it being under £20 which you can find it for, is a good price for a well made novelty gift, as rather than being one that you might just look at now and again - it has an actual use and is well made enough to be impressive and useful.
So yes - I do recommend this as a gift, or even for yourself, and will award it five stars out of five.
Everyone enjoys a putt on the local crazy golf or tricky putting green, and the beauty is that anyone can get involved and do it, rather than the full sport of golf which requires a great deal of practice and learning the technique. Anyone can pick up a putter and try and aim a ball at hole, which makes it a great bit of fun for family or friends. Longridge have encapsulated this with this little putting set, which allows you to take the putting green on your travels or wherever you may be going, ensuring a good time and an improvement of the game whilst your at it.
This product consists of a putter, which folds up neatly into its case, 2 golf balls, and a cup at which to aim at. The putter obviously is lightweight, but perfectly serviceable for a bit of fun or a little family competition. This is similar to the golf balls, which are fairly cheap and not of the greatest standard, which means that you probably won't improve your game a great deal, but equally can provide you with a good deal of entertainment. The 'hole' is a little aluminium cup which is easy to pop out and to take aim at, guaranteeing some easy laughs.
If you were a keen golfer then you could probably take this kind of thing away with you when you go on holiday, but i do not feel it would improve your game greatly, as you would not be able to recreate the greens and also standard of putter amongst other matters, but it still can provide you with a good deal of fun, without worrying too much about whether it is having a positive or negative effect on your game next time you hit the course.
This product can be found on the internet for about £15. I think this is possibly a little bit steep for the novelty value, but would make a nice gift.
A novelty or gift, but will provide a good few hours of family fun.
Take your golf with you wherever you go! The Longridge Executive Golf Putting Set is a way to practice your putting whilst in the living room, in the bathroom, or even in the office. With a current price tag of £17.22 from amazon.co.uk, the set comprises a putter, a putting cup, and two balls - plus it comes neatly packaged in a zippable faux-leather case. If you really are a golf maniac it would be easy to take this little kit on holiday with you - it only measures 14cm x 30cms, and weighs very little.

First off there's the putter - this four piece metal stick easily screws together to form a regulation sized golf club. As it's primarily constructed from aluminium, it is a little more lightweight than the majority of other putters that i've used in the past - however, it's perfectly acceptable for the purposes of having a bit of fun (if putting floats your boat that is!).
The two golf balls which come as standard with the set are rather cheaply made, and also quite hard - if you're a golfing enthusiast, you should perhaps ditch these straight away and replace them with a softer ball which has a bit more feel. Of course, if you're simply a sunday golfer (i.e, you don't play that often / and, or, don't take your golf very seriously) the included balls will be perfectly adequate for your needs.
Finally, there's the putting cup which is simply an aluminium constructed target to aim for - It's fairly pleasant looking device with a brushed metallic finish, and it shares its diameter with that of a real golf hole.

Overall, the Longridge Executive Putting Set really is suitable only from a novelty point of view - the putter is too light to replicate the feel of a 'proper' putter - and it probably won't help you achieve consistency in your short game. That said, the set as a whole is well made and fun, and would make a good gift for someone who appears to have an interest in the game.
The cool little Longridge Executive Golf Putting Set is a wonderful item that we have had several of. When we wanted to tell you all about it, it wasn't listed but a quick product suggestion means its now here for all to see.
The sets are something that we got free, when we purchased 2 shaving products from a well known brand of mens shave / skin care products. The offer was something that we saw both last summer and the summer before in Boots stores.
If you do happen to come across any of the sets still on the promotion they are well worth getting, as prices for this set can be as high as £24.99. We paid just under £5 including the 2 mens care items, which is a real bargain.
This little set is perfect for the keen golfer in your life, to take into work and practice in the office. Its also practical and very portable and can be used with some of the golf trainer home sets that you can buy. They make a perfect gift for golfers of all ages and are very well presented and made.
Another reason we wanted them was for playing pitch and putt on the lawn and for taking out an about when on picnics etc, for the children to play with on lawned areas. As we very often take a variety of easily portable sports equipment in a large basket in the car for that very reason. These can then be easily lifted out and the children are able to pick which items they want to use.
The set consists of a simple putter that is made of a good range of materials, golf balls and a mini putting cup . The putter comes in 3 sections with the putter head on one section and the 2 shaft pieces as the others These can be easily and quickly screwed securely together to form a full sized and rather nice quality putter.
The weight of it seems just right and the shaft length/ height of the putter, will suit a variety of users from adults to older children. The handle is rubberized and offers a nice comfortable grip, the whole putter also seems nicely balanced, which we didn't expect from a fold up golf putter.
The putting cup is very simple to use and means that you can practice with the set almost anywhere. Again its made of well finished materials and has a semi matt silver toned finish to it, to match the putter.
The black leatherette case that the set comes in is very smart and well thought out. It zips up quickly and easily once the contents are all in place and is small enough to pop into your travel bag or case when going away.
The interior of the case has a smart and durable green baize effect fabric, which sets everything off nicely. There are also well positioned elasticated sections within the case, so that the items within fit snuggly and safely inside.
The set is such a good little item that we can only give it a 5 star rating. We have used the putter with some of the home practice equipment that you can buy and found it works well.
The set as a whole can be easily transported and is made of good quality materials. Its often been out and about on picnics and days out and has been perfect for entertaining the kids and we have also given the sets as gifts to golfing friends.
This set is something that can have a variety of uses and so its worth thinking about when looking for a gift for the golfer in your life. You can buy at Amazon for £17.99 or from Argos for £24.99, but you may still be able to pick the set up as we did, which works out as a fantastic bargain.
