I bought these golf balls from my local golfing range last year as there was an offer on to buy one small item or accessory and get the other half price. I bought a shoe bag so was looking for something in the same price range and saw these Srixon soft feel balls for 13.99 so I got them for £7 which I thought was very good value. There are 12 balls in the box so they work out at less than 60p a ball. They came in pure white and passion pink but I opted for the white as the pink were a bit too bright and girly looking.
They are called a 2 piece ball, which I am presuming refers to the outer layer and the inside. The outside is covered with quite deep 'dimples' which Srixon claim "help to deliver a penetrating trajectory with higher lift force resulting in incredible carry and distance, and superior stability." They also maintain that they have "a 58 compression core formulation, whilst superior new aerodynamics give golfers with moderate swing speeds exceptional distance and soft feel."
This is quite technical for me so I will describe in laymans (or laywomens) terms how I find them. I can say that I do generally achieve a greater height with these balls which is something I do have trouble with. I am always pleasantly surprised when my ball goes higher than twenty foot and I find that this does happen quite often with these, so maybe it is the dimples working their magic. They feel soft to the touch when you are handing them and the sound is softer when they are struck and gives a low sort of low hollow sound. I also seem to get quite a bit of distance with them as well compared to other balls.
I would say that the thing I like best about them is a 'Hit Straight' alignment arrow which is basically a line with an arrow each side of the words 'SF LADY' which you can line up to point towards the direction you are aiming. I find this very useful especially on the greens and find that my putting is a lot more accurate if I am using these balls, and as golfers will know if you aim even a few degrees towards the wrong direction this can make the difference of getting it in the hole or missing it by several feet!
I really like these golf balls and the only time I haven't used them since I have had them is when I am playing a shot over water when I will use one of my cheaper balls! I have only managed to lose one ball so still have eleven to go. You can get them online from £14.00 onwards but I would say to keep a look out at golf shops as you can get special offers on golf balls. I really think that a good golf ball makes a difference to your game and I will definitely buy some more of these, hopefully at a reduced price again. They aren't the best golf balls you can get and I would say that they wouldn't really be suitable for someone with a lower handicap but for an enthusiastic golfer like myself they are just perfect.
