Intro
------
As a regular golfer, and someone who has retail experience working in the golfing industry, it is always nice to review golf products, particularly when they are as good as the HP Eclipse golf ball. People will argue that playing with a certain type of golf ball is all about the placebo effect, and that it does not really improve your game. However, i am of the opposite school of thought, i really believe that the golf ball makes a big difference, and as someone who has had experience of spending time in the nets feeling for pitch and quality, i can assure you that this is a good ball to use.
The product
---------------
Length - Firstly, the balls disadvantage, well actually it is not a disadvantage, it is just a disappointment. The ball claims to add length to long hitting shots, those off the tee for example, but i really do not feel that it does this particularly well. This is surprising because usually titleist pride themselves upon this. However, i do not want you to think that this ball dies in the air, because it does not, it just acts as a normal ball; not fantastic, but certainly not poor.
Feel and spin - This is where the ball excells, the feel you get as the ball hits the club face is fantastic and makes a great sound. This ensures that the accuracy of your shots is very good, and is something which i would really recommend. The spin factor also allows you to pitch the ball right at the top of the green and watch the ball run down, just like the pro's, so on these factors the ball is extremely strong.
Durability- Being made by Titleist, you would expect the ball to be of good quality, and it is. I have been using a pack of 6 of these for a good while and when i put the last one in the drink, it was still in great nick, and had only a few dirt marks that the ball cleaner possibly couldn't fix. Thus, you know you have life in the ball.
Price - Perhaps another low point, at £2 a ball these are really something that you do not want to be losing. However quality costs money and if you can keep the ball, it really will last, just ensure your not hitting it into the drink too often!
Summary
-----------
Great ball with only disappointment being the length. The feel is the real advantage, and a great bonus for those looking to improve their short game.
Summary: Good quality ball
