If ever there was a GPS software that "Just Works" .. this is it. Requires little, if any, configuration. I used this in the UK. I have tried a few other GPS solutions, but always come back to TomTom as I realise the serious mistakes they make or make me lose time. Without a shadow of doubt it is the best.
There is also a choice of voices which is always great. Day and night map colors is good, but TomTom also lets you choose from a number of different options.
This also has a car icon choice. Which isn't really very great, but it is nice to have something other than an icon.
The voices can be a bit nagging at times when you know you are following traffic directions and the map is incorrect, but then that's a personal thing. I would have liked there to be a "bad directions" button which will fix the direction for a while instead of suggesting it. Another bad thing is that you cannot configure the notification distance/duration for POIs .. I would like the speed camera warnings to come up a little earlier, just better to be aware :)
Also this doesn't allow route storage
BeingSinsible: GPS is a software .. learn to navigate without it and keep your eyes on the road so you know when it is getting things wrong. Having millions of roads and a 0.1% error still means that (any) GPS software would have 1000 wrong roads :) .. basically there are errors .. just the ones in commonly used areas get corrected faster and affects less people .. for others .. pay and get the updated maps but at the same time learn to watch the road not just the device :-)
