TomTom XL United Kingdom & Ireland Classic ... is the best to me, I have used other systems such as Garmin, but TomTom always wins hands down. Compared to other systems I found that TomTom is far easier to use, as it tells you the directions before hand, such as 300 yards before, and not just when the turn comes up, which results to a re-route. This TomTom XL Classic is great as it has a nice 4.3" wide screen that allows more of the map to be shown. The voices are the same as in all TomToms, nice and clear to understand. The TomTom is really easy to use, and this is where the wide screen comes helpful as more of the menu is shown and it all becomes less confusing. Another great feature about the TomTom ... TomTom One ... did i do without this gadget? With regular long drives from Scotland to England the tom tom has become invaluable. We purchased our Tom Tom a few years ago and initially i was a little sceptical as it was quite an expense at the time, but boy has it paid for itself over and over. With a variety of ways to input your destination such as point of interest, postcode, actual address etc you are sure to be directed to your chosen destination. With maps displayed brightly coloured the green arrows allow you to see exactly which way you are being directed which is especially useful when you ve not heard what has been said or for me when the road looks quite complicated... TomTom One XL v2 ... am a good driver, a great map reader however driving and navigating at the same time I have no clue! Bring on the sat nav! The sat nav is suppose to be the idiots guide to get to places, ummm it helps you however if you have no common sense than there is no point getting a sat nav, if you take instructions literally , then not point getting at sat nav! The Tom Tom One XL V2 in my eyes is a god send however you still need a brain! The XL is an updated design of the Tom Tom One, before I purchased this sat nav (with my Tesco club card points- not even money!) I had a Naviman for approximately 2 weeks because she (I liked to give my sat navs names Vera) got thrown out ...
