TomTom One Classic United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland ... bought my TomTom One after my husband navigated a journey of 50 miles which should have only taken four! I have never looked back since getting my GPS and can confidently drive places I have never been before without the worry of getting lost. It has a 3.5" non glare touch screen with a night mode option, so it is very clear to see. I like the fact it shows the estimated time of arrival, number of miles left to go and what the next turn is going to be. There is a selection of voices to choose from in various languages and the speech is very clear. It gives amble warning of any turns coming up making it easy to get into the correct lane in plenty of time. It is ve... TomTom XL IQ Routes Edition Europe 42 ... an amazing genius invention. I drove to Newport in Wales today to get a fast track passport, and I would never have got their if I hadn t borrowed my friends tom-tom sat nav. The tom-tom finds you the quickest routes to all destinations, it locates speed camera s, car parks and even service stations like Costa and McDonalds. It gave me the exact amount of time my journey was going to take, and as well as an on screen view of the directions, it gives audio instructions too. I did tell my friend its remarkable for blind people too. But later realised a blind person hopefully wouldn t be driving. Definitely worth the full price without a doubt. Garmin Streetpilot 2620 ... hate motorways. My car is deafeningly noisy at anything over 60mph and it assumes a death rattle when driving on a fast road where I feel like a snail where even the dithering old dears and the articulated lories are overtaking me on a very steep hill. Still the Garmin allows me to select the shortest route and so on that fateful day when I first used it to venture from wet and windy Wales to Barnsley my usual choice of directions from Multimap was abandoned mostly because Multimap was adamant the quickest way was via a series of motorways through every major city taking an enormous detour whilst Garmin offered a more direct A road route.
