Garmin nuvi 310 ... a first time SAT NAV user I found both the Price and the ease of use to be amazing. I tried the Garmin nuvi 310 in my local Staples store, and the manager allowed me to enter post codes to search by, and get a true feel for the product. When you submit the post code / address you want to go, you can press the detor option, incase of road problems and it gives your a secondary route (if avaliable). As with all SAT NAV s it gives you the average speed and the estimated time it thinks you will be at your destination. Garmin Streetpilot i3 ... bought one of these in August 2006. whilst it worked it was brilliant, but 6 months later it started nagging me about updating the map, which I ignored, since from year to year, not that much changes where I live. From then on it stopped recognizing the destinations I entered, making it practically useless. So to keep it working you have to pay $80 (USD) every year to update the map.
