TomTom XL ... bought a Tom Tom One XL sat nav device two years ago & wrote a glowing review about it on Ciao, however after using the device for two years my opinion of this device has changed. Originally I was looking for a no nonsense sat nav unit that was small enough to fit inside a jacket pocket when not used. Tom Tom had just introduced the basic One XL model with the new extra large screen. At the time the price was competitive & Tom Tom had a great reputation. It came in a stylish yellow box with a car based power lead, USB lead, CD, manual, SD card with UK & Ireland maps on it & what I thought at first was a rather flimsy windscreen mount but no slip cov... TomTom One Europe 22 ... this since passing my driving test and has made driving a whole lot easier! No more worrying about where im going or getting lost leaves me to concentrate on the road. Even if i take a wrong turn, it doesnt matter because the tomtom will put me right again. Let me start off by saying if you have not got a GPS, then definetly buy one! They make driving so much easier and are not difficult to use. Dont be put of by stories of them directing people into rivers, that doesnt happen. And lorry drivers getting stuck down country lanes are purely the fault of the driver (you have to still use your brain a tiny bit) theres even an option to stick to main roads so those people ... TomTom Go 720 ... bought TomTom for our car because it was the leading maufactuer for GPS and had a very good reputation. Having used it for two years now i don t regret buying it. Lets start with the good points. It has a big screen, bigger than the other and older models. It s description of the road is accurate. This sounds like quite a silly point as it s what you expect from a system which is suppose to tell you were to go but what i mean is that on some GPS it says turn left when actually it means bear left or it s actually a really big turn.
