We needed a new Sat Nav, our last one unfortunately had met with an untimely death when a cup of coffee spilled onto it.
You never seem to have the money to spend out on these things when you need it, so consequently we had to make a compromise and spend less than we would rather have done.
The last model we had was a Binatone, and it had worked well for a couple years, so we didn't feel hesitant about buying another one of the same brand. We were disappointed from the off though with this model as it doesn't seem very good quality and not very well made - but we accepted this as it was so very cheap.
We opted for the Binatone B350 and was thrilled at the price, it was a brand new product on Ebay and we paid £29.99 on it, with only £3.349 postage.
The EAN reference number for this model is 5026686075151
The battery life for this Sat Nav is 4 hours, it has a rechargeable battery, which is charged via the cigarette lighter in the your vehicle.
It is compatible with all versions of Windows on your computer from XP onwards, so when you wish to make sure that your Sat Nav is up to date with all the latest maps, you are able to connect the SD card to your computer and let it update.
This model is classed as an entry level Sat Nav, it has an LCD screen and also is voice activated
The screen is slightly larger than its predecessor and is 8.9cm
You can set your Sat Nav to the vehicle you are using, ie Bike, Fast Car, Slow Car or Walking
It is simple to use, you set your home postcode via the step by step instructions on the screen and save these detail as as "home" - then you input your destinaton details - all very straightforward.
Unfortunately we do not rate this model very highly though, as it doesn't seem to set the route to the most efficent way to get to a certain address... Yes, it gets you there with no problems, but it is not until you drive away from a certain point that you realise that in fact there was an easier and quicker route - for some reason this Binatone does not always find the best route to take.
Having said that though, we have had this model now for around three months, it works perfectly, the battery life is good, the screen is clear - it works via Voice or Touchscreen and the sound quality when giving you directions is perfectly ok.. Although, unlike some models of Sat Nav, you do not have a choice as to what sort of voice you listen to... it is a female voice.. not a problem to us, but some people may prefer a choice.
This machine works well, but is not the best quality product and we think there are other products on the market that do the job better
