I don't really know anything about sat navs, but I know a few other people who have Garmins, and they've always had good things to say about them, so I decided to take the plunge and get one. I'm a bit of a nervy driver; having my sat nav with me gives that added bit of confidence. Since I've had my Nuvi, I've found it to be an invaluable tool.

Firstly, the most important thing about the Nuvi is that it always helps me find my way.
The Garmin is really good at finding the best route for me to take. It never takes me down dodgy sideroads. It always finds the most straightforward route for me to take. When I do take a wrong turn, the Nuvi recalculates my route within seconds, not giving me a chance to get into a panic. It's fantastic.

The Garmin website is also great. I can always download and update my maps quickly and easily. Although it initially took me about an hour to connect to the website and register, it now usually takes about 40 minutes to install updates.

Another great feature about this device is the voice recognition system actually works! A lot of voice recognition services refuse to understand me, but the Nuvi seems to like me. Unlike a lot of other devices, where you have to speak each line of the destination address separately, the Nuvi lets you say it all in one go, then it generates a list of options. The correct destination is almost always in the top few options. The voice recognition feature is a lot safer than having to stop and type in the destination, so it's fantastic that it actually works.

I can't really grumble about this device. All I would say is that the owner's manual and online information are not great. I have had to resort to email support a few times, but each time, responses were quick and very helpful.

All in all, it's a brilliant little device. I'm much happier behind the wheel with the Nuvi guiding the way. I'd happily recommend this sat nav to anyone.
