Well worth purchasing if you travel a lot

The Garmin Nuvi660TFM GPS has it all, its quick and easy to set-up in fact within 5 minutes you are up and running using the satellite navigation system, all you have to do is find a suitable position on the windscreen without obscuring you road vision to mount the suction cup, connect the GTM21 integrated receiver to the windscreen suction mounting and cigarette lighter adapter for lifetime Traffic information from Trafficmaster and the two suctions to the windscreen. Connect the suction mounting and the receiver and clip the Nuvi 660TFM to the mounting, Start your car and the Nuvi comes to life, then follow the on screen prompts it’s that simple you can’t go wrong. Finding your destination couldn’t be easier, touch the Where to?, Address, Spell Country, Spell City/Postal Code or Search all if you don’t know the post code, Enter house number, Enter Street touch to highlight when found, touch Go! and watch the unit calculate your route before your eyes it will tell you an estimated time of arrival, a great way to plan before you go although I would add 20 minutes just in case of hold ups, there are three options for Faster Time, Shorter Distance and Off Road.

What’s in the box is an impressive satellite navigation system which is a slim portable large super-bright 4.3” ratio wide touch screen unit device, AC Charger, USB Cable, Leather protective carrying case for the unit to fit in your pocket or handbag, the unit comes with an attached flip and concealed GPS antenna that allows you to use it anywhere providing the unit is fully charged which lasts between 3-8 hours. No need to carry a pocket A-Z anymore set the unit to pedestrian mode and listen to the prompts to navigate you there. The On-screen display changes colours for day and night light conditions for that easy to read on-screen information. Preloaded maps of Europe is great for those who like to travel further a field including Republic of Ireland which most systems do not cover.

      •Bluetooth® Hands-Free calling
      •Preloaded safety camera alerts
•Points Of Interest hotels, restaurants, fuel, ATMs, shopping, parking and more
•A MP3/audio book playback, Picture Viewer, Calculator, World Clock
      •Currency Converter, Unit Converter

A SD card of up to 4gb is required for MP3/audio book playback and Picture Viewer, this unit does come with lifetime traffic information to avoid UK traffic hotspots covering over 8,000 miles of motorway and trunk roads in England, Scotland and Wales.

Traffic information is updated on a three-minute cycle, ensuring that the user is always supplied with the current status on traffic conditions, which allows you to view details and then if need be touch the avoid button. If you make a mistake taking the wrong road the unit will re-calculate and get you back on track, like all Sat Navs they are only as good as the mapping source and NAVTEQ are not bad, The updates are free through Garmin’s Webupdater which you need a PC, although map updates are chargeable.

•The bonus feature on this unit which is why it is called Nuvi660TFM is that it as an FM Audio Output which means you can listen to the prompts through your car stereo speakers by pairing your FM car stereo to the FM Transmitter on the unit. You probably won’t use all of the features on this unit and it is rather expensive, but what you do get is a great bit of kit and certainly one I wouldn’t want to be without.
