Advantages: Features for the price, addition of EU maps, ease of use, accuracy
Disadvantages: Size if being very picky
This review is a summary of my experiences with the Streetpilot c510 Deluxe; I shall not bore you with the ins and outs of the specification as this is readily available on the Garmin website.
I shall begin with a little section relating to background knowledge for my purchase. I purchased this SatNav from Halfords almost a year ago for £139.99. It is still available nowadays from the same store, and from various online retailers, from as low as £99.99. Ever since I bought this Garmin, I have not had any bad experiences, and I still consider it to be one of my best buys to date.
Positives
Let's start at the beginning. From the moment I took it out of the box, the setup was really quick and straight forward with the instructions being clear and concise. The touch screen is crystal clear, and not over sensitive like other brands. Sound quality is good, and the instructions read out by 'the voice' are always well timed and understandable.
The menu's and settings are well laid out and very accessible even when I'm driving, and the accuracy of the destination finder is second to none - many of my friends have other branded SatNavs and all complain about their accuracy. I can honestly say that this Garmin will bring me within 5m of my destination pretty much every single time, with the best route used also. The addition of the quickest route, as well as the shortest route is an excellent function within the device. The addition of the European maps is also great when considering the price you are paying for the SatNav.
Negatives
I don't really have any negatives to say about the Garmin Streetpilot C510 Deluxe. It has served me well every single time I have used it - this being at least once a week over the last year. If I am to be really critical, I would say that the only minor fault is its 'bulkyness' - it is not slimlined as many of the other branded SatNav's are.
All in all, I love my Garmin, and I would highly recommend it to anyone. I'd say that this device covers pretty much all functions that you are likely to get in a mid-priced SatNav. Hope this review was helpful in making your decision.
Summary: All in all...what a great SatNav! Highly recommended to anyone.
