      Advantages

      Disadvantages

Excellent satnav, easy to use, easy to follow.

The Mio Navman V505 is a great device for helping you navigate to, from and around new places. The touch screen is responsive and voice guidance very clear. The wide screen is very easy to see and read and the automatic colour change for night driving is a real gem.

I have used screen mounts for most of my in car electronic items but the mount that came with the Mio Navman V505 actually sticks to the screen... and stays there. Vibration was minimal so even on bumpy and uneven roads it's easy to see the directions.

You can choose the route you wish to take (shortest, fastest, most economical and so on) and the types of road you wish to use (toll roads, ferry routes, unsurfaced roads) so you can make your journey scenic or direct and at any point press explore and find out where you can go and what you can see anywhere on your route.

If you take a wrong turn or decide you know better the route quickly re-calculates and gets you back on your way.

The only down-side is pre-planning routes, but none of the devices seem to have this sussed.

If you have the extra I'd go for the TV version but this one does the navigation job just dandy.
