Advantages: Easy to use and understand
Disadvantages: likes to give up on you
I was bought this satnav for Christmas and was very pleased.
Very easy to use with a good size lcd touch screen.
It also has changable info on the map screen such as Expected time of arrival or how many Km`s, miles etc. You can also show all of these options at once. This device will feed you live traffic reports which i find are amazingly helpful when trying to avoid traffic. You can also link this to your mobile phone via bluetooth and then be able to view your contacts and make and recieve calls all from your sat nav. Excellent if you dont have a hands free kit.
I personally am a lorry driver by trade and i did try using this for my job but it was unable to keep up especially in central london when it was needed most. I found going under large bridges would knock out the signal ( i dont think Navman can do anything about this) and on a number of occasions in london it would randomly give me a message "a route can not be calculated to your destination" and thats it, it would leave me by the road having dig out the old paper maps. Also with regards to my profession this sat nav does not provide you with information on Width restrictions and Low Bridges but then that is probably a speacilised requirement as it dont affect many average cars.
Now ive used a TomTom along side this and the TT usualy calculated a quicker and easier route. The NM seems to love country roads even though the settings are for main roads and motorways.
Overall a good device if you want it for your car for family trips and so on but i dont feel it has the guts to be used in a fast paced built up enviroment.
Summary: good for holidays and short trips but i would take a map with you aswell
